A very high quality large antique rose tipped crucifix cast in copper and silver plated with four floral roses, rope borders and the figure of Christ. INRI stems from the Latin phrase 'Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum' meaning 'Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews'. This was the notice Pontius Pilate nailed over Jesus as he lay dying on the cross. In very good condition with the original silver plate and patina. (c.1880).
