Unusual Victorian Silver Plated Sardine or Preserve Dish

A most unusual Victorian silver plated sardine or preserve dish. Rectangular in shape with a hinged lid engraved with coral and plant life and with a detachable cast fish finial. The pierced floral body has the original frosted glass liner with a star cut base. Standing on four claw & ball cast feet. In very good re silver plated condition and complete with beautiful fish engraved serving tongs. (c.1890).
