The pierced border details owls, dogs, birds, cherubs and flowers and has a central empty cartouche. The original blue velvet back is marked with the retailer Mappin & Webb. The silver border is in very good condition without any holes to the highlights and the black velvet is slightly worn as shown. (1894).
