An impressive pair of late George II cast candlesticks by the renowned silversmith John Cafe. With detachable circular shaped and shell style border one with a lion passant and the other unmarked. The capitals have a rope work border and the knopped stems have shell decoration. The shaped cast bases have matching family crests, alternating shell motif decoration and hallmarked on the underside of the bases. Both candlesticks are in very good original condition. (1756).
